You wouldn’t think there would be many good things that come out of a pandemic like the one we are living through right now. You, of course, would be right. But there is one bright spot that we can be happy about: the mildest flu season in about a decade, so far.
It seems that all of the preventative measures that we have been taking to slow the spread of covid, such as washing hands, wearing masks, distancing from each other, etc., has worked to minimize the spread of other diseases, like the flu. Check out this chart that shows how many positive flu cases that we have had so far this flu season.

The next image depicts the amount of hospital and urgent care visits that are occurring during this flu season so far. As you can see, visits are in the minimal range, which is good.

Hopefully, we can keep our flu cases to a minimum as we continue to fight the spread of covid. This is incredibly helpful to our healthcare workers spearheading our battle with this pandemic. The big question is if these good-hygiene habits will continue in the future even with the covid vaccine readily available. That is a big IF.
Please let me know if you have any questions.
